名古屋が、２試合連続ホームで迎えた相手は、開幕戦で、駒澤マグパイズに敗れた、専修パワーズ。

第１Qは、両者とも、互角の攻防で、名古屋のあげた、僅か１ゴールのみ。　

第２Qに入り、個人技で勝るレッドバックスが一気に突き放す。D.Jenkins、A,English等ベテラン等が、８ゴールを挙げ、前半で４５点差の大量リード。

後半も流れは変わらず、まだ、新入生が多くチームとしての完成度が低い専修を圧倒した、名古屋がコンスタントに加点し、９１点差の大勝。

大敗したパワーズだが、昨年の新人王の古村が４ゴールを挙げ、1人、気を吐いた。

The Powers got off to a strong start in the first quarter, running hard, but not converting their opportunities into goals, as the Redbacks struggled, kicking a goal to lead by one straight kick at the first change.

The Redbacks started the second quarter with more committed play across the park, dominating out of the middle for much of the term, with Jenkins kicking goals almost at will. The Powers only managed to kick two goals while the Redbacks scored eight majors, opening up a 45 point margin by the main break.

The home team picked up where they left off in the third term, kicking five goals to one to put the game completely out of reach for the young team from Senshu by the final break.

Veteran Adrian English played a brilliant cameo in a dominant fourth quarter, kicking four goals in almost as many minutes as the Redbacks opened up a 100 point lead with a few minutes left on the clock before the Powers kicked two consolation goals in the last minute.

A lone hand from Komura with four goals for the Powers made him their best, while Jenkins was the Redbacks best moving around the park like a man ten year his junior, dominating the second and third terms with seven goals that shut the Power down.
